MATCHMAKING TERMS
> Last updated: 2026-09-04 · Version 1.1

These terms apply specifically to Locus Grid Matchmaking — the ranked CS2 system on the platform. By queuing for a match, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms in full. They supplement the general terms of service and take effect as soon as you join the queue.

1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To participate in Matchmaking you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Have a verified and active Locus Grid account
  • Have a verified Steam profile linked to your account
  • Use only one account — multiple accounts per person or device are not allowed
  • Have at least 150 hours of registered CS2 playtime on Steam
  • Have a Steam account at least 30 days old
  • Not be subject to an active queue ban, timeout, or permanent ban
  • Not have an active VAC ban or Game ban on Steam

Playtime and ban status are fetched automatically via the Steam API and cached for 24 hours. If your profile is private, verification cannot be performed — you need a public Steam profile to play with us.

Steam privacy settings with My profile and Game details set to Public
How to make your profile public: Edit Profile → Privacy Settings. Both My profile and Game details must be Public, and the box about always hiding total playtime must be unchecked.

2. FAIR PLAY AND CONDUCT

Locus Grid is a competitive platform. We require all players to behave fairly:

  • Cheating, exploits, macros and unauthorized tools are prohibited BAN
  • Match-throwing, deliberate AFK and/or sabotage of matches are prohibited
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech and discrimination in Match chat or voice chat are not tolerated
  • Accepting a match you do not intend to play is prohibited — this may result in a suspension.
  • Leaving an ongoing match without valid reason (disconnect) results in a cooldown or suspension.

When matchmaking with or against an admin, the administrator's privileges are temporarily paused to ensure fair play.

3. RANKING SYSTEM

Locus Grid uses an internal ELO-based ranking system called True-ELO. Your visible True-ELO value is influenced by wins, losses and above all by individual performance per match. This is calculated by the Anticheat system.

  • ELO manipulation via collusion or match-fixing leads to a permanent ban
  • Ranking data may be adjusted administratively in cases of proven abuse
  • Rankings are personal — sharing or trading accounts is prohibited

Locus Grid reserves the right to adjust, reset or remove ELO points upon confirmed violations, without prior notice.

4. SANCTIONS AND BAN SYSTEM

Depending on the severity of the violation, the following measures apply:

  • Queue cooldown — temporary queue access restriction (minutes to hours)
  • Timeout — temporary account suspension with a specified end date
  • Permanent ban — irreversible — the account cannot be reactivated PERMANENT

Smurf accounts and multiple accounts per person are detected and blocked automatically by the system. Cheating leads to a permanent ban via our anticheat. Account abuse, VAC bans and repeated serious conduct violations are decided by Locus Grid administrators. Sanctions may take effect without prior warning.

Attempting to circumvent a ban via a new account, VPN or another device results in a permanent ban of all associated accounts.

5. MATCH SERVERS AND CONNECTIVITY

Matches are played on dedicated Locus Grid CS2 servers.

  • You are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection during the match
  • Locus Grid is not responsible for ELO loss due to server-side technical issues
  • Server availability may vary — if no servers are available, matchmaking will show as offline

6. PARTY PLAY

You can queue with up to four friends using the party system. As party leader you are responsible for ensuring all party members meet the eligibility requirements.

  • All party members must have verified Steam IDs
  • All party members are checked against eligibility requirements when joining the queue
  • The party leader who leaves a match carries the party's responsibility

7. INTEGRITY DURING MATCH

During matched game sessions, game-related data is collected to maintain fair play and calculate ELO. Locus Grid uses automated systems to ensure compliance — how these systems operate is not disclosed publicly in order to protect platform integrity.

Locus Grid reserves the right to act on signals from these systems without disclosing specific detection methods. All data is handled in accordance with our privacy policy.

8. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Locus Grid reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use of Matchmaking after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
