FAQ
locus-grid.se
It started as a project aiming to create a better alternative to Discord and TeamSpeak, but grew into something bigger: a matchmaking platform for CS2 built with the players in focus.
The main person behind locus-grid.se is mievec, a CS player from Norrbotten in northern Sweden with a clear vision of how a gaming community should work.
A place where the competitive instinct has room, where the community is at the centre and where cheating and toxicity don't belong.
We are building locus-grid.se for players all over Europe who want to find matches, improve and compete on their own terms. Without unnecessary costs, paywalls or having to pay for a good experience.
locus-grid.se isn't just about matchmaking. It's about building a community where players can meet, compete and grow together.
A platform developed with the community, for the community.
We're here to challenge the status quo and show that a good CS2 experience shouldn't have to cost money.
Fair play. Better matches. Stronger community.

Frequently asked questions
Does it cost anything?
No, everything is free. The website runs on voluntary contributions and some advertising. If you donate, you get a supporter badge on your profile. No in-game advantages.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You sign in with Steam and find a match through our matchmaking. No client needed.
What are the requirements to play?
Your Steam account must be at least 30 days old and must not have a VAC or game ban from the past year. This is checked automatically against Steam when you join the queue, at least once a day, and applies to everyone in the lobby. The requirements are also shown when you register.
When is matchmaking open?
Matchmaking has opening hours. The schedule and a countdown are shown on the start and matchmaking pages, in your own time zone.
Wed · Fri · Sat · Sun 2 PM–1 AM CET · opens in –
Which servers do you play on?
We have servers in Sweden and the EU. The match is automatically placed on the server with the best ping for the whole lobby.
Can I play with my friends?
Yes. Invite them to your lobby and search together. The queue adjusts automatically to premium tier, trust and rank.
How does the ranking work?
There are 10 levels based on True-ELO, which measures your own performance, not just wins and losses. You get your rank after 5 placement matches.
What is Trust Factor?
Trust Factor is a score from 0 to 100 showing how reliable you are as a teammate. Everyone starts at 50. Clean matches and thumbs up from teammates raise it, leaving matches and thumbs down lower it. A single thumbs down does nothing, it takes several different players.
What are Trusted and Elite?
Premium tiers that unlock automatically and for free: Trusted at 70 Trust Factor and Elite at 85. They cannot be bought. If your trust drops below the requirement, you lose the tier until you build it back up.
What does Premium Elite include?
Elite is the highest tier and gives you:
- Queue priority - shorter wait
- Auto-accept match
- Map veto - vote out maps before the match
- Elite badge on profile
- Ad-free
- Access to all profile cards
- Stats+ with personal training tips
- Full match statistics
- 2D map replay
- Matched with players of similar trust factor
- Trust Factor tracking
- Solo / Duo / Trio / 5-stack
- Download match demos
What happens if I leave a match?
You have 3 minutes to reconnect. If you don't come back, it counts as leaving the match. That lowers your Trust Factor and gives you a queue ban that gets longer each time: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and then 30 days. If it continues after that, the ban becomes permanent.
Is friendly fire on?
No, friendly fire is turned off in matchmaking.
How is cheating handled?
Every match is monitored by our server-side anti-cheat. Anyone who cheats is permanently banned from our servers. We do not share how the anti-cheat works.
What is Chat-Guard?
Chat-Guard is our AI moderation that monitors chats in real time, both in-game and here on the website. It catches hate, sexism, racism and harassment. Toxic behaviour affects your Trust Factor, and repeated violations lead to a permanent ban.
I think someone is cheating. What do I do?
Contact support here on the site and tell us which match and which player it is about.
I have been banned. Can I appeal?
Bans for cheating are only issued once it has been confirmed, and they are final. They cannot be appealed.
Are there other servers besides matchmaking?
Yes. Locus DM (deathmatch) and Locus TDM (team deathmatch) are open to everyone and are great for warming up. The addresses are on the matchmaking page.
How do I protect my account?
You register with Steam, and Steam's security comes first. Under Settings on your profile you can add extra security with two-factor authentication (2FA), and you can also delete your account there.
Which languages is the site available in?
The site is available in 11 languages: Swedish, English, German, Polish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. You choose your language at the top of the page.
